The Affiliate Cup team competition is back in 2022. Here is a quick refresher about what that means so you don’t get left out, because that’s just no fun.
If you want to be on a team, there are two ways to make sure you are on a team roster:
Option 1. Register for the Open as an athlete → select your affiliate → join a team from your Competition Dashboard
Pro Tip: Your affiliate may have more than one team. Be sure to join the correct team. Athletes cannot jump from one team roster to another after the close of the first Open workout (Feb. 28, 2022, at 5 p.m. PT).
Option 2. The team manager (the athlete who registers the team and pays the $20 registration fee) selects you from the affiliate roster and adds you to the team roster.
Pro Tip: If your affiliate only has one big team for all athletes, that’s great. But you must still either join the team or be added to the roster by the team manager. If you do neither of those things, you will not be on the team roster. Period. Which will then be no fun.
Your affiliate can have as many teams registered under it as it wants. Just remember that an athlete can only register one (1) team under their account. So if you register the team "CrossFit L&O Power Rangers" you cannot register a second team. Someone else from your affiliate will need to register "CrossFit L&O Avengers".
One more time for the folks in the back: The affiliate roster and team rosters are not the same thing. If you select your affiliate after you register, you’re on the affiliate roster. However, you must either join a team or have the team manager add you (before the close of the first Open workout) to be on a team roster.
To compete for a team during the Open, Quarterfinals, Semifinals, or the Games, you must be registered and listed on the team roster prior to the close of 22.1 (Feb. 28, 2022, at 5 p.m. PT).
