How do I qualify for Regionals?

Step 1: Register for the Open

Open registration starts on January 11 at games.crossfit.com and continues through March.

Step 2: Compete in the Open

The Open starts Thursday, February 22 at 5:00 p.m. PT, and continues through Monday, March 26 at 5:00 p.m. PT. One workout is released each Thursday at 5 p.m. PT, and you have until the following Monday at 5 p.m. PT to complete the workout and submit your score.

You can perform the workout at a participating CrossFit affiliate in front of a registered judge, or film your performance and submit a link to the video with your score each week for online review.

To be in contention for Regionals, you need to be competing with the Individual Division and Team Division. To do so, you need to be completing the same version of the Open workout each week. This is not always the case for Teenagers in the 14-15 division or Masters athletes in the 55-59 or 60+ division.

Step 4: Submit video of an Open workout to CrossFit Games Staff

If you earn a qualifying spot, you will receive an email from CrossFit Games staff asking you to submit a video of a specific Open workout performance. CrossFit Games staff will review your performance to make sure you met the movement standards. Athletes who meet the standards will receive an invite to Regionals.

The qualifying positions will be backfilled, as athletes in qualifying position remove themselves from contention so to compete on their affiliate's team or fail to meet the movement standards in the submission videos. Any athlete in or near qualifying position should closely monitor their email to watch for an email from CrossFit Games staff.

Step 5: Complete all Regional registration tasks

CrossFit Games staff will lead you through the requirements. Monitor your email, and respond in a timely manner.

Step 6: Show up for Athlete Check-in one-day prior to Regionals

Regionals start on Friday morning and continue through Sunday evening. Athlete check-in happens at or near the venue on Thursday. You will receive more detailed information from CrossFit Games staff, but please plan to allocate the extra day for check-in.
